Dinostars and the Planet Plundering Pirates by Ben Mantle (Macmillan Children's Books)

Here's an excellent idea to draw in reluctant readers, and serve up an original mix of dinosaurs, space adventures and pirates..!
Ben Mantle's "Dinostars" range is a new series of children's picture books designed to engage kids who aren't totally in love with books (yet) but love excitement and adventure. The premise for the series is that Dinosaurs didn't actually die out, they just moved to a galaxy far, far away and now patrol the spaceways as a force for good.

When planets start mysteriously disappearing, it's up to Captain T-Rex and the rest of the Dinostar crew to get to the heart of the galaxy and stop the nefarious Space Pirates from stealing the entire universe.

Dished up with a heady dose of brilliant excitement and adventure, and some cool space facts too, the book comes accompanied by the first two in a series of Dinostar character cards perfect for a game of trumps - and a cool fold-out model of Captain T-Rex himself too.

The next book in the series, "Dinostars and the Cackling Cave Creature" arrives in September, but start your collection today with "The Planet Plundering Pirates" - It's sure to be a blast!

Charlotte's favourite bit: Awesome doughnuts, and a brilliant model of Captain T-Rex to play with.

Daddy's favourite bit: An amazing new adventure series perfectly pitched to draw in reluctant readers, and full of excitement and originality.
