Two stunning new titles full of inspirational people in a brilliant new range from Wide Eyed Editions. "Fantastic Footballers" and "People of Peace"

The World Cup hype machine is in full swing, and as a nation of footie fans gear themselves up for the most incredible tournament on earth, the publishing world is gearing up too...
We've seen quite a few stunning titles about football, covering the game itself, the World Cup tournament - and now Wide Eyed Editions have come up with a superb resource for fans of the individuals who make the game the incredible sporting spectacle it has become in modern times.

"Fantastic Footballers" by Jean-Michel Billioud and Almasty brings together an incredible roster of players from right across the globe.

Digging back into the origins of the modern game, you'll find footballers whose incredible skills are still admired and copied today, as well as the modern megastar footballers who earn crazy amounts of money to showcase their ability and expertise.

It's a treasure trove for footie fans, with stunning full page spreads of some of the most famous names in the game.

Franz Beckenbauer, German footie legend
"Fantastic Footballers" by Jean-Michel Billioud and Almasty is out now, published by Wide Eyed Editions.

There's also a fantastic book full of inspirational figures from history who have taken a slightly more placid path to fame...

"People of Peace" by Sandrine Mirza and Le Duo features 40 inspirational figures who have promoted ideas of peace and wellbeing, encouraging all of us to be better people, to get along together and embrace the fact that we're all human, all part of the same planet and can coexist with all the other living creatures and organisms we share this mudball with too.

Amazing folk such as John Lennon, The Dalai Lama, Ghandi and Nelson Mandela all feature in the book with many more.

Again, adopting a similar illustrative style fo "Fantastic Footballers", each page spread features one of these amazing people and a whole crop of facts about them and the work they did to make our world better for everyone.

Stunningly presented, and (we're pleased to say) not pushed at any specific gender (we can't clamour enough about this being hugely important for kids - that books like this are presented for any gender, not just aimed squarely at boys or girls), it's definitely one of the best of this type of nonfic title that we've seen this year.

Eleanor Roosevelt - Inspirational Stateswoman
Bertha Von Suttner, an incredible spokeswoman, author and crusader for peace
"People of Peace" by Sandrine Mirza and Le Duo is out now, published by Wide Eyed Editions (both books kindly supplied for review).
