Eat your People by Lou Kuenzler and David Wojtowycz (Orchard Books)

What's worse than having a fussy eater at home to have to cater for? Having TWO fussy eaters...
Such is my lot. I am usually the one who is called on to somehow magic the contents of our fridge or cupboards into an interesting meal. Unfortunately Charlotte and Mummy are both as fussy as heck so this book really struck a chord with me.

In "Eat your People" Monty the Monster is a fussy little creature whose parents despair, as every mealtime seems to turn into a battleground.

Monty really doesn't like his food, yet mum and dad just can't shut up about how yummy their main diet choice is.

People. They eat people. THEY EAT PEOPLE! ARRRGHHH!

Oh dear, if I had a penny for every time I heard "Don't play with your food" when I was a lad...
Monty is stubborn, and prods the people around his plate (and they don't exactly stay put either, making mealtimes even more difficult!)

Can this fussy monster be persuaded to scoff down his people-shaped plateful?

An engaging and hilarious take on fussy eating, brilliantly monstrous and funny with awesome writing from Lou, and totally BRILLIANT monster illustrations from David. We ate it all up, every bite!

Monty's sister looks like she's eyeing up the leftovers. Eek!
Charlotte's best bit: The awesome 'twist' at the end, when little Monty reveals his favourite dessert (bet you can't guess what it is!)

Daddy's favourite bit: A hugely original, dare we say monstrously good read. We couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor little humans who were doomed to end up crunched and munched (and the hilarious in-jokes as they're running around all over the table, plaintively pleading with the monster captors). Sure to be a huge hit with monster fiends!
