Home by Carson Ellis (Walker Books)

Where is home for you? Do you live in a house? a flat? an igloo?
Carson Ellis' "Home" is a fantastically illustrated and lilting celebration of homes of all shapes and sizes.

Drawn in by the fantastic cover, Carson's illustrations are exquisite as are her descriptions of the places we live. With each turn of the page, we span the globe looking at all the different places that people choose to call home as they snuggle up safe and secure.

With such a rich visual feast to enjoy, it's undoubtedly the case that as soon as you finish the book you'll want to turn straight back to page one and go through again, picking up all the delightful little details that are lovingly worked into each panel as you explore.

I think this is one of our favourite panels, the glorious bustle and busyness of an urban redbrick apartment
Of course, like any good book, it stimulates conversation and encourages curiosity about other cultures and how they live their daily lives.

Ooh! Cheeky boy! Poor Mother Hubbard looks like she could do with a holiday!
There are so many 'ooh and ahh' moments when reading this. We're completely won over by "Home" and know you will be too!

Charlotte's favourite bit: Mother Hubbard's busy boot-house (and her rather cheeky children!)

Daddy's favourite bit: Lovingly illustrated with such style and detail, it'll make you want to see and greedily devour everything Carson has ever done. What a fantastic book!
