"It's a Little Baby" by Julia Donaldson and Rebecca Cobb (Macmillan Children's Books)

I was a bit apprehensive about approaching Charlotte with this one. The moment she saw the cover, I could see her expression setting into that "I'm not reviewing THAT!" look. But...
...I'm a sneak and did point out that this utterly adorable sing-along book had flaps to lift, and an online song to join in with.

So here's "It's a Little Baby" by dream team Julia Donaldson and Rebecca Cobb. It is indeed a book designed for the teeniest of tinies but that doesn't stop us enjoying it and giving our loudest and most enthusiastic rendition of the lovely rhymes.

And yes, they are lovely. This is Julia Donaldson we're talking about, and if there's one thing Julia does well, it's working with the story to produce the most pleasing and lyrical rhymes that positively fizz off the tongue as you read.

Each 'lift the flap' page has a little pint-sized tot as a surprise (and long-term fans of the blog will know just how much we adore Rebecca Cobb and her art work - so you're in for a treat if you love her as much as we do, she's produced some utterly lovely little illustrations for this!)

Perfect for new mums who want to read something fabulous to their tiny ones. Perfect for busy little curious babies who are just discovering books for the first time. Hey, it even works on mildly cynical 8 year olds who think they're too old for 'baby' books too!

Charlotte's favourite bit: Lifting each flap to discover a little tiddler hiding behind!

Daddy's favourite bit: Julia and Rebecca make it look so effortless and easy to produce such brilliant books, and this is perfect for your tiny ones. Enjoy!
