Robin's Winter Song by Suzanne Barton (Bloomsbury Children's Books)

Suzanne Barton's fabulous stories are always atmospheric and lovely. Let's catch up with the latest as we hear "Robin's Winter Song"
Our tale begins with a Robin (our favourite bird, by the way and recently chosen as our national bird here in the UK). Robin is enjoying the last few rays of warm sunshine in the woodlands but something is changing, and Robin is worried.

Animals seem to be all of a frenzy, scurrying back and forth gathering provisions and fluffing up their winter coats.

Robin's bird friends seem to be flying off to sunnier climes as they migrate south for the winter. As more and more animals and birds start to behave oddly, Robin starts to wonder if perhaps he should join them too.

But as we all know, the cold doesn't bother Robins anyway - and soon as the first snows of winter start to fall, Robin is content and worries no more - in fact it's almost enough to make him sing his little heart out.

Suzanne's stories tie in so gorgeously with the change in seasons as we have just celebrated the first day of Autumn and the first crisp frosty mornings arrive. We love Autumn and Winter and we definitely love a fabulous tale that celebrates the seasons so well.

Look out for Suzanne's equally wonderful "The Dawn Chorus", perfect for celebrating the arrival of spring!

Charlotte's favourite bit: Scurrying squirrels gathering winter provisions

Daddy's favourite bit: A beautiful and equally atmospheric story to perfectly accompany "The Dawn Chorus"
